A significant number of policies lack a review or revision date within the last 10 years, some are over 20 years old.

Delays in policy work were extended due to the Covid pandemic. Other impacts from the pandemic include changes related to systems work, use of technology, and the needs of students and teachers.

We need data-driven, education-based revisions bringing us into alignment with the Commonwealth and the present day. Policies and procedures should undergo routine review and revision by the School Committee.

I also love hearing from faculty, parents and our biggest stakeholders, the students themselves, about their ideas for updating these policies and improving the educational climate here in Seekonk.
